Have you ever cracked your knuckles?

Hmm… cracking knuckles, seems silly and harmless, right?

I am sure that we do this very often and sometimes it’s just for time pass. I do, don’t know about others. But it’s really a bad habit which will make your knuckle unhealthy and the consequences of years of knuckle cracking can enlarge your knuckles and deforming your hands. I came across one article in the web

I will try to post some photographs later…

How does it work?

All the joints are the connecting end of 2 bones held together by connective tissues and ligaments, filled by synovial fluid, a thick and clear fluid. You are making these joints of the bones to pull apart when you stretch or bend fingers to pop the knuckle. Doing this will make your tissue capsule to increase its volume, as a result the pressure of the synovial fluid drops, this will cause forming bubbles inside the capsule. Once these joints are stretched enough these bubbles burst due to low pressure. It takes another 30 to 45 minutes for the gas to re-dissolve in the synovial fluid which makes your knuckle not to crack for sometime
